Specialising in Domestic electrical work I am a member of the NICEIC Domestic Installer Scheme. Being part of the Domestic installer scheme provides my customers with the knowledge they are employing a tradesman who is annually inspected by the NICEIC and whose work is backed up by the Platinum Promise. I am also Part P Certified allowing me to notify Local Building authority of any notifiable work and issue my customers with Building compliance certificates.
Part P is an aspect of the Building Regulations concerning the compliant installation and maintenance of electrical work carried out in a home or domestic property by an electrician or electrical installer. It enables competent electricians to self-certify their work as compliant against the Building Regulations.
Part P states that anyone carrying out electrical installation work in a home must make sure that the work is designed and installed to protect people from fire and electric shocks. Part P applies to any changes made to existing installations, including any parts that have been rewired.
Part P forms part of the Building Regulations and was introduced by the government on January 1st 2005. ... The aim of Part P of the Building Regulations is to improve the health and safety of people in England and Wales and to eliminate the risk of fire, electrocution and other injuries electrical work poses.
